Topic: Alcohol to Diesel – A life cycle assessment of alcohol-based diesel production
Christoph Markowitsch is a 28-year-old doctoral candidate at Montanuniversität Leoben, Chair of Process Technology and Environmental Protection. As a Marshall Plan Scholarship Fellow he is conducting research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison as part of Professor George W. Huber's dynamic research group, with a primary focus on the production of diesel fuels using biobased alcohols.
This innovative approach holds immense potential in transforming the landscape of fuel production, making it more sustainable and environmentally friendly. The research group is pioneering new processes in an area that has not yet been fully explored and is dedicated to creating groundbreaking methods that can reduce our dependence on fossil fuels.
