Topic: Smart City Initiatives: A Comparative Study of Urban Planning, Transportation Systems and Digital Infrastructure Projects In The USA and Germany
As part of my Marshall Plan Scholarship, I am conducting research on the topic "Smart City Initiatives: A Comparative Study of Urban Planning, Transportation Systems, and Digital Infrastructure Projects in the USA and Germany."
My study aims to evaluate the different approaches taken by these two countries in the development of smart cities, focusing particularly on urban mobility, technological infrastructure, and sustainable city planning. Through this comparative analysis, I hope to gain valuable insights into best practices and potential areas of improvement for both regions.
During my exchange semester at San Francisco State University, I have the opportunity to engage with professors and maybe even industry professionals from outside of the campus, who specialize in urban planning and smart city development. San Francisco, as a hub for innovation and technology, offers a unique perspective on the integration of digital infrastructure into everyday urban life, from public transportation systems to energy-efficient housing projects.
In addition to my academic work, I’ve had the chance to explore the vibrant culture and diverse communities of San Francisco. This city’s blend of historic charm and modern urban design provides an inspiring backdrop for my research.
