“Meeting Challenges of the 21st Century”

The Austrian Ministry of Education, Science and Research, the ASciNA (Austrian Scientists and Scholars in North America) network and the Austrian Consulate General Los Angeles are jointly organizing this year’s ARIT. As part of the working visit to the USA by Martin Polaschek, the Federal Minister for Education, Science and Research, researchers with a connection to Austria in North America are cordially invited to come together and exchange ideas with high-level representatives from Austrian higher education, research and research funding institutions at this networking conference.

Locations:
The ARIT 2023 conference will take place in the Biltmore Bowl at the Biltmore Hotel with registration opening at 8:30 a.m. The evening networking event will take place on the 4th Floor Terrace at the Hotel Indigo Los Angeles Downtown.

Hotel Rooms:
At the Hotel Indigo, the organizers have arranged for a limited number of rooms at a rate of USD 229 (plus 16.2% tax) per night for two nights from Friday to Sunday. Travel Grants:
To reduce the costs of participation for junior scientists, the Ministry for Education, Science and Research offers a limited number of travel grants of USD 500 per person. Please use the application form in the link below to apply.

Consider granting permission to publish your name and contact details when registering. The organizers will update the public list of participants by the end of June, so that you can start networking in advance.

Side Events:
Friday, October 6: There will be three side events prior to ARIT at the Hotel Indigo.
1. A reception by the University of Vienna Alumni Association from 5:00 to 6:00 pm (open to University of Vienna alumni and friends)
2. A workshop by the Austrian Business Agency & Austria Wirtschaftsservice: “Reconnecting, Starting & Funding your Business in Austria” from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
3. Followed by an ASciNA get-together in the hotel

Sunday, October 8: The ASciNA General Assembly at 11:00 am – also at the Hotel Indigo.
