Topic: AI-assisted Tech Scouting for Carbon Capture TechnologyAs a visiting scholar at the Network Science Institute at Northeastern University in Boston, I am conducting research titled "AI-assisted Tech Scouting for Carbon Capture Technology." My work focuses on developing an AI-powered technology scouting pipeline that uses semantic search and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems to identify and evaluate carbon capture technologies based on specific organizational requirements.
The project integrates real-world data and a diverse set of sources—including patent databases and company information—to automate the identification of promising technologies and potential partners. This approach significantly accelerates and refines the scouting process compared to traditional manual methods. The research is carried out in close collaboration with an industrial partner based in Tyrol. It aims to support the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions both at their production site in the Inn Valley and through the implementation of carbon capture solutions in their products deployed globally.
