Harald Iseman
Harald Isemann graduated from a science-focused secondary school in Vienna in 1987. He pursued his studies at the Vienna University of Economics and the University of New South Wales in Sydney, earning a Master’s degree in Economics in 1992. In parallel, he studied History at the University of Vienna from 1987 to 1991. In 2010, he completed a training as a certified mediator.
His professional career began in 1992 at the European Commission in Brussels, followed by positions at the Austrian National Bank and the cabinet of the Minister of State for European Affairs. From 1996 to 1998, he served in the Cabinet of the Minister for Science, where he was responsible for technology policy. Subsequently, he led the Technology Impulse Gesellschaft (TIG), a research and technology funding agency of the Austrian Federal Government.
Since 2004, Harald Isemann has served as Managing Director of the Research Institute of Molecular Pathology (IMP), a biomedical research institute sponsored by the German pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim in Vienna. Additionally, he is Chairman of the Campus Vienna BioCenter (VBC).
Harald Isemann participated in the Voluntary Visitors’ Program of the U.S. Department of State and has extensive expertise in science management and international collaboration.
