The Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation supports cooperation between Austria and the United States through research and teaching projects relating to the U.S. in economics and the social sciences. This may also include projects in other academic areas as long as they address problems of the social- and economic sciences.

In this context, the Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation invites applications projects of scientific cooperation with the University of California, Berkeley for the academic year 2021/22, coordinated by the Institute of European Studies at UC Berkeley:

• 2 PhD students at the University of California, Berkeley for a duration of three months and a stipend of $ 6.000 (+ $ 500 Berkeley Visiting Fee).
  The time frame for the stay at Berkeley can be chosen freely between September 2021 and June 2022. The Institute of European Studies will lend the necessary support on campus and will furnish office space to the best of its abilit
